ABOUT ANGELA WOODS
Angela Woods was raised in Kings Mountain, North Carolina by parents who stressed hard work, education, and respect. She attended Kings Mountain City Schools where she and her sisters were known for their athletic and academic achievements. After graduating from Kings Mountain Senior High School, she attended the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA where she majored in English and minored in American Histor and Studio Arts. Angela graduated from the College of William & Mary with a Bachelor of Arts in English and pursued her goal of becoming an attorney by graduating from the University of North Carolina School of Law with a Juris Doctor.

EXPERIENCE MATTERS Most of her 22 years of legal experience have been in the district courts of North Carolina. Angela’s legal career began in the district courts of Cumberland County, North Carolina as an Assistant District Attorney, where she prosecuted domestic violence cases, criminal cases, and traffic matters. Prior to leaving Cumberland County, she prosecuted misdemeanor appeals and felonies in superior court.
In 2001 Angela returned home to Kings Mountain to work in Mecklenburg County as a Juvenile Delinquency Attorney for the Children’s law Center, now the Council for Children’s Rights. For 3 years she zealously represented juveniles, who were charged with crimes ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies. Since 2004, Angela has worked as a Cleveland County Social Services Attorney, fighting to ensure families in Cleveland County receive child support and disabled or incompetent adults are protected from
